II. School to Profession Project (Completed)

Project Start Date: 01.11.2017

Project End Date: 01.11.2018

Project Duration: 1 Year

Project Objective

The project was launched to increase youth education and employment. It aimed to employ vocationally trained students in the Industrial Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (IVACR) sector, introduce the sector to students, and foster interest in it. Through these activities, the project sought to help address the shortage of qualified personnel in the sector.

Activities Implemented Within the Scope of the Project

The project aimed to increase youth education and employment by supporting the employment of vocationally trained students in the sector and by introducing and promoting the sector among students. Through these efforts, a contribution was made to reducing the shortage of qualified personnel in the industry.

Sector presentations were delivered at university engineering faculties, vocational schools, and technical high schools. Technical site visits were organized to enable students to closely observe working environments and job opportunities. As a result, students interested in the sector were offered internship and employment opportunities within member companies.

A CV database was established within the association, and collected résumés were shared with member companies seeking personnel, thereby supporting youth employment. Visits were organized to fairs, factories, and construction sites with students and their supervising teachers to familiarize them with sectoral products, companies, and working conditions. In addition, school visits were conducted, and sector presentations were delivered directly to students in their own educational environments.

Within the scope of the project, 7 technical visits were organized. During these visits, students were first given presentations introducing the visited companies and their products. This was followed by guided tours of production facilities, where manufacturing processes were explained in detail and products were presented on-site.

As part of the Basic Air Conditioning Systems Training Program organized by Konak Çınarlı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School to enhance the qualifications of educators and support the training of skilled technical personnel, a technical visit was organized to Barlas Soğutma with the participation of 15 teachers. Educators from Adana, Adıyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bartın, Burdur, Gaziantep, Hatay, Isparta, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Muğla, Sakarya, Sivas, Tokat, and Trabzon attended the event. The visit provided valuable opportunities for educators to observe technological developments in the sector firsthand.

Sector Presentations

Within the scope of the project, 5 sector presentations were organized. These presentations were delivered at schools with the participation of two industry experts. Sector representatives introduced their companies, products, and services, and provided students with insights into employment opportunities and recruitment criteria within their organizations.

During ESSİAD’s presentations, information was provided about the association, its fields of activity, members, and ongoing projects. Students were informed about internship and employment opportunities, working environments in industrial facilities, organized activities of sectoral non-governmental organizations, export targets of the industry, and symposiums, congresses, and events bringing together white-collar and blue-collar professionals as well as academics closely following scientific developments in the field.

Industry experts also shared information on company profiles, career journeys, job interview best practices, career planning advice, résumé preparation tips, interview techniques, and success stories, offering students valuable guidance for their professional development.
